Carbon fiber airbox - Hyundai i20N
The project underwent numerous optimizations using CAD and CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulations; our goal was to lower the intake air temperature and achieve slight dynamic supercharging*.
Carbon fiber offers numerous advantages over plastic, including its almost complete resistance to aging (which makes plastics brittle), significant weight savings, and a professional aesthetic.
The component is made from the highest quality carbon fiber and coated with transparent anti-UV and scratch-resistant resin. Additionally, all metal components are treated with Cerakote ceramic coating. This allowed us to minimize heat exchange, thereby reducing the intake air temperature.
The images show a comparison graph between the intake air temperature from a competitor's intake and ours*.
Our customers have noted an increase in dyno power, improved throttle response, and a reduction in oil temperature.
The component is supplied with the Ramair cone filter, with which the fluid dynamic optimization was performed.
It can be mounted with both OEM and aftermarket inlet pipes.
*All tests and simulations were conducted together with our carbon fiber airscoop, but it can also be purchased and installed individually.
The component was designed and optimized by FCEngineering, produced by M205 Works
